Hope for a Heavy Heart (Proverbs 13:12)Warren Harvey, August 8, 2010
Part of the Proverbs: Summer in the School of Wisdom series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
Joy! Peace! Hope! Christians are quick to claim these wonderful truths as the blessings and benefits of God's grace for those who trust in Christ. Yet, the experience of many, including those in the church, can be vastly different. At times, life is filled with burdens that lead to anxiety, sadness, fear or despair, and Christians can become confused or dismayed by a heaviness of heart. God's word not only acknowledges the reality of a heavy heart and the struggles it brings, but it also points us to the only real remedy for such burdens.

12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. (ESV)
