Gospel Hope In A Hostile World

Of the various churches we read about in the New Testament, there is one in particular that is held up as what we might call a model church. Not a perfect church by any means as there is no such thing, but a church that became known throughout the region as a church changed and shaped by the gospel of Jesus Christ. That church was the church at Thessalonica, an influential city in the region of Macedonia, where the gospel took root and began to flourish in a short period of time. In this sermon series, we are going to look at Paul’s letters to the Thessalonian believers, letters which express Paul’s pastoral heart and great love for the church, and which seek to encourage and strengthen this young church with gospel-hope in a hostile world. And my hope is that through this study will be both encouraged and challenged in our endeavor to be a gospel-shaped and gospel-sharing church: living for, loving like, and leading to our King Jesus.
