Foundations

The fall semester will begin September 3, 2017 and meets weekly September -May from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Ambassador seeks to promote Christ-likeness among God's people through the systematic teaching of God's Word. During the Foundations hour on Sunday mornings, we offer classes for all ages that help God's people grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ together. Nursery care is provided during this time for children up to age 3.

Curriculums Include:

Pre-K - K

This class uses the Gospel Story for Kids curriculum. This curriculum is a unique program that helps churches and families ground children in the gospel story from Genesis to Revelation. 4th - 6th Grade

This class is currently using a Children Desiring God curriculum, The Righteous Shall Live By Faith in conjunction with our church-wide Ten Commandmants series. "The Ten Commandments have much to teach us about our great and glorious God. They reflect the perfections of God and His heart for His people. They are the foundations of God's moral law. The Righteous Shall Live By Faith is an intergenerational study of the Ten Commandments in their historical context. Each commandment is studied both specifically and generally as the themes of law and grace are taught."

Junior High & Senior High

This class often studies books of the Bible such as Philippians from the So What? curriculum developed by Great Commission Publications. From GCP: Philippians is a favorite book of the Bible for teens of all ages—great for those who don’t know the Lord and treasured by those who’ve walked with him since they were young. Students will journey through Philippians and be equiped to “shine as lights in the world,” to “hold fast to the word of life,” and “count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Adult

Our adult class often offers courses in six-eight week "blocks" that rotate through biblical, theological, and practical emphases. Below is a sampling of previous courses.

Exploring the Protestant Reformation

One of the more fascinating times in human history is what has come to be known as the Protestant Reformation. For it was here, during the 16th century, where religious, cultural, intellectual, and political upheaval occurred that set in place structures and beliefs that would both define and shape the world in the modern era. But what sparked this reformation? What was so wrong that needed to be changed so badly? Join us this fall for a seven-week adventure as we consider together the Biblical and theological issues behind the Protestant Reformation as well as the intriguing cast of characters that God used to write His story for the sake of His Church and His world.

Square One

Whether you are new to the Christian faith or have been a Christian for a long time, it can be very helpful to periodically return to the fundamentals of our faith. Doing so will not only increase your knowledge of what you believe, but it can be a source of great, personal encouragement and a catalyst to empower you to share your faith with others. Recognizing this need, Ambassador is pleased to offer a new Foundations class called Square One. Square One seeks to answer four questions: Who is God? Who is Man? Who is Jesus? What is a Disciple? Together we consider these questions and grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ together.

The Acts of the Apostles

Just before Jesus ascended into heaven, he promised his disciples that they would receive power from the Holy Spirit and would be His witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. The book of Acts documents the triumph of the gospel as it spreads in just this way, and gives us encouraging insight into the establishment of the Church in the 1st century. Together we will walk through this book and learn about how through many dangers, toils, and snares God's great plan for His people is carried out according to His sovereign will.

To the Ends of the Earth!

Ever since Jesus commissioned his disciples to go into all the world and make disciples, the kingdom of God has been spreading in the hearts of people from Jerusalem all the way to the ends of the earth. In almost two thousand years of history, countless numbers of men and women have been called to leave their homes and take the message of the gospel to peoples of different tribes, tongues, and nations. In this series we examine the life and ministry of six missionaries, learning from them the many sacrifices that they made and the myriad number of obstacles they overcome to see people come to saving faith in Christ. We'll discover that while much ground has been made, there is much more that needs to be covered, and we’ll be encouraged as we pray and consider how we may be called on to help.

The Precious Blood: Jesus in the Book of Leviticus

The Book of Leviticus details for God’s old covenant people exactly how they were to deal with sin and impurity so that the holy Lord could dwell in their midst. But now, living in light of the cross of Christ, it can be hard for Christians to understand all of the rules and regulations that it contains. As a result, this book often gets skipped over or even ignored altogether in the contemporary church, causing us to miss a tremendous opportunity to better understand the life and death of our Savior. This six-week class will help you explore the original historic meaning of this text, as well as see how all of it points to Jesus Christ and finds its fulfillment in Him.

The Holiness of God

Any discussion about the nature of God must include the attribute of holiness, because holiness is central to His very character. Even so, many Christians today find holiness very difficult to actually define, and even more unpleasant to discuss. In this class we not only define and discuss holiness as it relates to God, but also consider how His holiness encounters us, transforms us, and sets us free to live in a way that truly enables us to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever.
