Core Values

Core values are the things that drive all that you do. As one person put it, they are the hills you’ll die on. At Ambassador, we hold the following values in the highest regard in order to carry out our vision.

Truth: Pilate asked the question, What is truth? It’s a legitimate question that many still ask today. We believe God’s Word is truth, not just because it says so, but because it’s truth has been born out in history and in the experience of people through out time. In it’s entirety the Bible is the good news (gospel) about God and his grace through Jesus Christ. When the gospel is believed, proclaimed and practiced it is the power to transform lives and culture. We seek to do all that we do according to the truth of God’s Word and the power that comes from a personal, abiding relationship with Jesus Christ by faith.

Jesus said, If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.
- John 8:31-32

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes
- Romans 1:16

Community: We all desire community. A place where we can be accepted, understood and can contribute. The church is the family of God, built upon our relationship with God through Christ and living out that relationship in a caring, loving, encouraging community with each other. We seek to do all that we do in the context of strengthening relationships, building friendships, and living out true gospel community.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Growth: Christianity is not about instant perfection. The Christian life is a life-long process of growth in maturity, nourished by intimacy with God in prayer, interaction with God through the Word, and involvement with God and others in the community of believers. We seek to do all that we do for the purpose of promoting and nurturing a growing relationship with God and one another.

Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity…
- Hebrews 6:1

Service: We all feel good when we’re able to do something for others. God has given each of us time, talents and treasures that are to be used for His glory and for ministry to others. There is no task or responsibility that is too low for God’s people. We want all that we do to reflect the servant-heart of Christ and to be a good steward of the gifts God has given us for the service of Christ and those around us.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
- Mark 10:45

Outreach: The church is not a building, but God’s people set apart by him to take the good news of Christ to others and build up the community of Christ through making disciples. We are committed to making disciples and seeking to plant churches in our community and around the world. We want all that we do to be geared towards sharing the good news of the gospel, and developing people and churches that seek to expand the kingdom of God.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything.
- Matthew 28:19,20

Prayer: Prayer is not just a crutch to lean on when wee don’t know what elseto do.  It is the life-line of communication between God and His people.  And God is at work in the world in response to the prayers of His people.  Prayer is a demonstration of our humble dependence and ultimate reliance upon God for all that we have and do.  We seek for all that we do to be undergirded by prayer support both individually and corporately.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. - Philippians 4:6
